Will Billings See a White Christmas?

If you’re hoping for a “White Christmas” this year, you may want to pack your bags and head east!
Climate experts say Pinkham Notch, New Hampshire has the greatest probability of at least one inch of snow on the ground on December 25th. The forecasters put the odds at 95%, the highest in the Northeast! New York City rates at just 12% while Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. are at 10%
So what about Billings? Experts say we have a 47% chance of a white Christmas. Since records began in 1934, 36 Christmases have been “white” in Billings. The greatest snow depth ever observed on Christmas was 9 inches which occurred twice, in 1978 and 1984.
