Weather Is Like A Yo-Yo
Conditions are right for wind to develop around Livingston blowing out toward Billings today. While gusts in the mountain foothills could be 65 mph, Billings will likely experience steady winds of 15-25 mph. While this would normally mean a warm up, cold air in Yellowstone National Park and in the Big Horn Basin will be drawn up this direction by the wind, and hold Billings back a few degrees for the afternoon high. Higher elevations could end up warmer than the valleys today.
Generally sunny conditions will prevail with the highs in the upper 30s to upper 40s across the region. Upper teens and 20s for lows overnight, and partly cloudy. Tomorrow, colder air backs in to the area from the east, and highs will be mainly in the 30s.
Watch out for gusty winds Thursday, but temperatures rebound back to the upper 30s and 40s for highs. There is a risk of a shower on Thursday, otherwise conditions remain dry.
