Strong Gusts Ahead
As expected, the wind will be a big player in Thursday’s weather. Gusts in the mountain foothills could reach 60 mph, but the entire area has the potential of 45 mph wind gusts through the afternoon and evening. Steady winds around Billings will be 15-35 mph.
The Pacific system that is bringing the wind is also brining the potential for a brief morning shower. Some areas may see light freezing rain, so use caution if travelling. Clouds will decrease into the afternoon, and temperatures could be the warmest of the week. Highs will be mainly in the 40s, and a low 50 here or there isn’t out of the question.
Winds will decrease, especially after dark. Friday morning lows will be mainly in the 20s, and Friday stays breezy. With a mostly sunny afternoon, it should be pleasant with highs in the mid-to-lower 40s across the area.
