The Animal Rescue Challenge
Animal Rescue Shelters have been in the news a lot lately. Some for good reason, some for bad. It’s times like these that make the “bad apple” saying come to mind. Enter The Animal Rescue Site. This is by far one of the coolest sites I’ve come across. If you’ve ever wanted to help your local shelter but don’t have the funds, this is the way to go! All it takes is one click, every day, to help your favorite shelter win much needed funds!
Rimrock Humane Society, who has foster homes all throughout Billings and the surrounding areas is in the running for this challenge. They are currently in the lead, but it takes a village! President of the Rimrock Humane Society, Sandy Church, had this to say about the challenge:
“The Rimrock Humane Society has been actively involved with the Animal Rescue Sites Shelter Challenges for well over two years now. We are proud and honored that we have won the $1,000 Montana state prize both in December of 2009 and April of 2010. We couldn’t do it without the help of ALL of our supporters who vote diligently on a daily basis for us; they are the true heroes here!”
If RHS has the most votes by March 20th, they will win the Grand Prize of $5,000!
“As in the past, the winnings of this contest will be applied to our low cost Community Spay/Neuter program where, since it’s inception in 2006, we have paid for the surgeries for 691 cats and 340 dogs.”
The challenge will end on March 20th at midnight. Each click is counted towards the chosen organization. Clicks also go towards feeding shelter animals. We know the tragedies of pet over population. We know that one organization alone cannot solve the problem as a whole. But with little steps, like visiting theanimalrescuesite.com and clicking once a day, we can raise the funds needed to help in our little corner of the world.
