Austin Criswell might not look like the traditional pop star, but, wow, does he have a great voice. He’s been posting cover songs on his YouTube account for the last few years to moderate success. Singing in front of an audience at church is a lot less intimidating than subjecting yourself to, say, the judges on ‘American Idol‘. But it still takes guts to stand alone on a stage and belt out a tune, so that’s why we have to commend this enthusiastic fellow who sings ‘Looking For a City’ for his congregation despite having what could be fairly described as a dreadful singing voice.

Singer-Songwriter Nick Ashford Dead at Age 70

Nickolas Ashford, who along with his wife Valerie Simpson made up the Motown songwriting team Ashford & Simpson, succumbed to throat cancer Monday at age 70.

The duo penned such classic hits as ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,’ ‘Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing’ and ‘I’m Every Woman,’ and had their music recorded by Diana Ross, Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Smokey Robinson and Marvin Gaye, among others. Ashford & Simpson also had a long singing career, which was best known for their duet ‘Solid.’
