'Jack the Giant Slayer' may have taken the number one spot at the box office, but no one is celebrating -- it may sit at the top, but it sits at the top of one of the weakest box office weekends since, well, last weekend.
The third row of an IMAX screen is a sufficiently disadvantageous perspective to give you a taste of the way the hero of 'Jack the Giant Slayer' sees the world. From that angle, even regular-sized humans loom ominously overhead; you can imagine how big the giants look. But that's about as impressive as the surprisingly crummy 'Jack' gets.
With its March 1st release date looming, it looks like the marketing folks behind Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Slayer' finally remembered that they have a movie to sell. Arriving hot on the heels of a teaser for the new trailer (oh, the days we live in!), the first official clip from the movie is full of all kinds of Giant action, although not too much Giant slaying. We're less than a month away from the release of Bryan Singer's 'Jack the Giant Slayer,' and though the film had nine additional months to figure out how to sell itself (it was originally scheduled to hit theaters in June of last year), we still don't know what to expect. There's a new trailer coming on Monday, and the preview for it suggests scale and pageantry.
Before Bryan Singer turns all his attention to 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' with his ultimate all-star troupe of past and present 'X-Men' movie casts, he first must tie up loose ends with 'Jack the Giant Slayer.' Not too long ago, he finished cutting together the new trailer, which is now joined by an all-new poster featuring our hero strolling right into the giant's den... well, mouth.
There's so much date-changing around here that it's almost hard to keep up! So let's add another movie to the pile: 'Jack the Giant Slayer' (which just got it's name changed from 'Jack the Giant Killer') has now been moved from its March 22 slot back a few weeks to March 1.
