Leah Gibbs was so impressed with Adam Minton’s Facebook profile that she agreed to go on a date with the man she knew just through the social networking site.
The 23-year-old Australian woman probably realized this wasn’t going to be a traditional date when Minton kicked it off by asking her to drive him to a betting parlor and then wait in the car while he presumably made a wager.
A Georgia man was aware that his pickup truck had no functional brakes when he took it for a drive Wednesday afternoon. But the 24-year-old was under the mistaken — and likely Saturday morning cartoon-influenced — impression he could just stop the vehicle by sticking his foot out the door and dragging it across the pavement, Fred Flinstone-style.
Ten-year old Zilan Fitch was angry that he had been punished. But instead of trashing his room or refusing to come down for dinner, Zilan retaliated by stealing his mom's SUV and driving it straight into rush hour traffic.
Christi Sanders, the boy's mother, spotted Zilan backing out of the driveway and followed him. She reports Zilan was staying in the lanes and even using his turn signal during his joyride.
Sanders also claims Zilan was traveling at such speeds that at one point she floored her gas peddle, but couldn't catch up with him.
Eventually, Zilan was rear-ended at a stop light, and then decided to pull the SUV over.
