Fire Crews Wrapping Up Work On Delphia Fire Near Roundup

The Delphia fire east of Roundup is now 95% contained after burning more than 40,000 acres.  Crews will continue to patrol and mopup around the fire’s edge.  A total of 21 outbuildings and non-residence structures were destroyed since the fire started last Friday.  It’s believed to have been caused by lightning. Tomorrow morning management of the fire will transfer to DNRC Southern Land Office.  A type 3 organization will remain to complete mop up and rehabilitation.

Fire Crews Make Major Progress on Delphia Fire, But Weather is Going to be a Factor! [AUDIO]

Firefighters are making good progress on the Delphia Fire near Roundup.  I talked with incident commander, Pat Mckelvey this afternoon and he told me that firefighters had a good night shift and they are hoping to call the fire 60% contained this evening.  Better mapping has adjusted the size of the blaze to around 35,000 acres.  Tonight fire crews plan to prep for an upcoming front that going to bring soaring temperatures and wind.  Q2’s Bob McGuire fills us in on what firefighters can expect!

Wild Fire Near Roundup Now at Over30,000 Acres [AUDIO]

The Delphia wild fire near Roundup that was reported on August 24 has grown to 30,000 acres.  There is some good news and that is there is about 45% containment as of this morning.  Northwestern Energy spokesperson, Claudia Rapkoch said that about 500 Northwestern Energy customers were without power over the weekend due to the fact that the fire burned
