Welcome to the 2012 season of the Billings Mustangs! Most of the players have arrived and have worked out at their new home for the next 76 games, Dehler Park. Pat Kelly is back as Team Manager. The 6oth year of the Billings Mustangs opens up tonight (June 18) against the Missoula Osprey.
I stopped by Western Security Bank last week for their downtown bank celebration and they were including the Billings Mustangs as part of their party. 2012 marks the 60th year that Billings has been affiliated with the Billings Mustangs minor league baseball team. And the Mustangs are still wearing Cincinnati Reds colors.
I have been following the Big Sky All-Stars since they entered the Little League World Series the first part of August. This weekend was kind of like the end of riding the wave with 3 celebrations for our little leaguers from Billings. The biggest celebration of the weekend was hosted by the Billings Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Billings.
The Big Sky All-Stars have been back home for 4 days and they will continue to ride the wave of playing in the Little League World Series U.S. Championship through the weekend. Friday night the team and coaches will be the Grand Marshal's of the Burn the Point parade in downtown Billings at 7:00pm.
After about 26 days on the road, the Big Sky All-Stars are back in Billings. The team flew back in Sunday night on two separate flights. According to reports, the boys were tired and happy to be back home.
In conjunction with Downtown Billings it is KBear night with the Billings Mustangs tonight! There is not a bad seat at Dehler Park and it's affordable. First pitch
