August 21, 2012 At about 3 p.m. on August 20 the wild fire in Lockwood grew from 80 acres to about 1,500 acres by sunset!
The Gazette reports:
The fire started between Lockwood and Pryor Creek about six miles east of Lockwood off U.S. Highway 87 East, on the Crow Reservation.
As of this writing there is zero containment to the blaze that crossed highway 87 early in the fire fight!

July 27, 2012 It was a great site this morning doing the morning show on K-Bear seeing the Hot Air Balloons take off just before 7 a.m.. I was fortunate to be 23 floors up in the Crowne Plaza and had a ring side seat, so to speak!
July 25, 2012 I for one was excited at the prospect of Bob Dylan playing Billings again. It was two Summers ago that Bob and John Mellancamp performed at Dehler Park during their "Baseball Stadium Tour". Bob Dylan was slated to perform at MetraPark right in the middle of Montana Fair, on August 15. The concert was cancelled late last week.
July 24, 2012 The auditions for the next season of American Idol will include Billings! The American Idol audition tour bus will be in Billings sometime during the first 3 weeks of August.

July 11, 2012 Friday, July 13 is the Yellowstone County Relay For Life. Fundraising efforts continue right up until and during the event at Billings West. If you have a Relay team, you may assemble and set up at Billings West on Friday afternoon. Be sure to check in with the American Cancer Society at Billings West so you set up in the correct spot. The Relay begins at 7 p.m.
July 10, 2012 After the 4th of July holiday it was back to work for Mayor Tom Hanel. City Council business meeting on Monday night. Mayor Hanel likes the fact that for two meetings in a row they have been short and productive.

There are two really easy ways to get registered for the 2012 Big Sky State Games, on-line or stop by any area Wendy's and pick up a registration booklet. Keep in mind the T-shirt deadline is July 9. This years Big Sky State Games is July 20-22. There is a very special opening ceremony planned on the evening of July 20.
June 21, 2012 When a pedestrian gets hit and killed by an out of control vehicle it seems to really get a lot more attention then the average accident. The incident from the morning of June 20 at Montana Avenue and Division is very tragic.
