Okay, I am going Seinfeld on you for a moment, but what’s with the “one size fits all” cans of yams? We usually get fresh sweet potatoes for our Christmas meal. Being that we just moved and still are adjusting to the new place, my wife and I decided to take the easy way and get a can of yams…little did I know there is only one size can on the shelves. Which by the way are not easy to find! I spent a good hour Christmas Eve day at our neighborhood Albertson’s store looking for canned sweet potatoes. I finally broke down and asked (I know guys, I know)…the store clerk directed me to the vegetable aisle and told me they were right there…but to his surprise, they weren’t! He then went to the back room and returned with three cases of the sweet delight. But to my dismay, the cans were huge! There were enough yams in each of those cans to satisfy every person who attended the Christmas dinner at the Montana Rescue Mission yesterday. They were huge…but when faced with lemons, one must make lemonade right? So I went to the baking aisle and got bigger marshmallows, headed home and made canned yams….anyone wanna guess what is for lunch today?
