Local MLK March Tonight

Here’s the info I talked about on the K-Bear Morning Show today. The Martin Luther King Jr. Day march and program starts at 6:15 tonight with the march starting on the Yellowstone County Courthouse lawn. It will end at the Lincoln Education Center on 30th Street around 7 pm. At that time there will be celebration program with the communitywide choir performing and keynote speaker, Dr. Charles “Chuck” F. McDew.

According to his web site, Dr. McDew has devoted his life to issues of social and political change, to the empowerment and development of local black leadership, to civil and human rights, and to the fight against racism. An activist as well as a theoretician, he led his first demonstration in the eighth grade, to protest violations of the religious freedom of Amish students in his hometown of Massillon, Ohio.
