Hound Dog Song Writer Jerry Leiber Passes R.I.P. [VIDEO]

Leiber & Stoller were the inseparable songwriting dynamic duo that wrote songs for Elvis, The Coasters, Marvelettes, Searchers, & Stealers Wheel.
Jerry Leiber, along with partner Mike Stoller – of one of the greatest and most proficient songwriting teams in the history of modern music, died of cardiopulmonary failure at the age of 78. His passing was announced yesterday. During their 60-year partnership, Leiber and Stoller produced countless classics, including “Hound Dog,”For Elvis Presley “On Broadway,” For The Drifters “Jailhouse Rock,” for Elvis Presley “Yakety-Yak,” for The Coasters “Stand By Me,” for Ben E King “Kansas City,”for Wilbur Harrison “Charlie Brown,” “There Goes My Baby,” “Poison Ivy,” “Love Potion #9,”for The Searchers “I (Who Have Nothing,” and the Stealers Wheel smash “Stuck in the Middle with You,” just to name a few. Jerry was an idea machine,” Stoller once said. “For every situation, Jerry had 20 ideas. He would paint pictures with words.”
