Good Time @ Montana Mardi Gras
A couple of weeks ago I got my first invite to a ‘social’ function in Billings. The event was Montana Mardi Gras, the big fundraiser for the Billings Food Bank. What a great night! I have to say, the people who put the event on did a great job of replicating the music and food of New Orleans. And then there were the auction items – some very generous people stepped up to donate items to support the Food Bank – We bid on several items, but took home none. One of the moving moments of the night came during the live auction, when the plea was made for bidders to step up and pledge support for the new refrigerator truck the Food Bank has their eye on. Over $20,000 was pledged in a little of 10 minutes. Fantastic! I really got a sense of the giving spirit in the community last night. Thanks for the invite Sheryle.
