Epic Fail!
For the last three months I have had a pretty good pain in my left should. At times the pain travels down my arm to my wrist – the best way I can describe it would be like a constant burn with a needle. Nothing has made it better.
I finally made the time to go to the Doctor last week and he referred me for an MRI. So last night I went to the Billings Clinic Hospital Radiation department to climb into the tube. No big deal. I’ve had MRI’s before.
I met my Rad-Tech and he escorted my back to the room with the giant white tube. He asked me the standard questions – “Am I claustrophobic?” “Have I eaten?” “Do I have to use the bathroom?” and then much to my surprise he snapped at me “You’ve GOT gum! You can’t have gum.” And it just got better from there. I explained to my tech that holding my left arm in the position he was asking was very uncomfortable and probably wasn’t going to work.
After four attempts of trying to get images, the tech finally gave up on me. He pulled me out of the tube and told me I had failed the tests – FAILED the test! He actually made me feel like I was in school again.
I have blood test this morning. Good thing I studied last night!
