Enjoy a Margarita in the Magic City this Cinco de Mayo
This Saturday is Cinco de Mayo. The holiday is celebrated every year on May 5 to honor Mexican heritage and pride. So why not toast the day with a margarita! Where can you find the best margaritas in Billings? Here’s my top picks!
There is no solid proof who invented the Margarita. The most accepted of all stories is that the Margarita was invented in October 1941, at Hussong’s Cantina in Ensenada, Mexico, by bartender Don Carlos Orozco.
A traditional margarita is made with tequila, triple sec, and lime juice with salt on the rim of the glass. I also add sweet and sour and a splash of 7up.
- My favorite margarita in town is at Dos Machos! They serve up at least a dozen flavors on the rocks or frozen and in what can be considered a small fishbowl! So yummy!
- Billings newest Mexican restaurant, Rio Sabinas also has a really good “Rio Rita”. In fact, I’ll be giving drink coupons for a free “Rio Rita” this Saturday night at The PBR! If you haven’t tried one…now is your chance!
- Guadalajara also serves up a tasty margarita as well! Pair it with their awesome Mexican cuisine and you have a great meal! Guess what I’m doing for dinner tonight!
- Santa Fe Reds can also mix up a mean margarita in several tasty flavors!
So who do think makes the best margarita in Billings?
By the way, if your looking for a great Cinco de Mayo party, then you definitely want to stop by Don Luis this Saturday from 1:00pm-8:00pm for their annual street party featuring live music, food and more!
