Elton John, The Show!
The wait was worth it! The Elton John concert at Metra Park that sold out within hours of tickets going on sale was one of the best Billings has ever seen. Elton said
he was happy to be in Billings for the first time ever and would love to come back.

Elton played mainly his classic hits mixed in with his idol, Leon Russell’s hits. Elton also played some of his new songs. But the crowd responded mostly to the timeless hits: Rocket man, Daniel, Saturday nights alright for fightin’, Sad songs say so much, Guess that’s why they call it the blues and more. The crowd of over 10,000 barely left their seats! The applause was huge throughout much of the show, and a hush fell during Elton’s numerous piano solos. Elton John seemed to appreciate the crowd by acknowledging them with waves after just about every song. And yes, Nigel Olsson still plays drums for Elton since 1969! All in all I give the show a huge thumbs up! And yes the acoustics are 100% better than before the Fathers Day Billings Tornado.
