Come Cheer on the Billings Bulls!

The Billings Bulls Hockey season is underway! Don’t miss the team’s first home game of their 20th season this Friday night at the Centennial Ice Arena! Come cheer on the Bulls as they take on the Yellowstone Quake!
Billings placed third in the AWHL regular season last season, earned a spot in the playoffs and qualified for the Tier III Junior A national tournament. The Bulls are bringing back 12 veteran players from last year’s team in an effort to build on that success. Among the returners are goalie Nic Wackerly, forwards Alex Herman and Jarret Stark, and defensemen Nik Nasby, Joey Ullman, Trey Robillard and Nick Rizzo, who combined to play 159 games on the blue line last season. Of their new recruits, Hartley said he is especially ready to see what forward Stephen Thompson can do. Thompson is the younger brother of former Bull Ryan Thompson, who scored 39 goals combined in the two seasons in Billings. The Bulls also boast six homegrown players — Robillard, forwards John Vant, Ben Gibson, Kyle Blankenship and Dexter Nealy, and defenseman Zach Wilson.
In addition to the on-ice developments, Billings is also under new ownership this season. Local partners Joe Robillard and Chris Dunbar purchased the team from previous owner Doug Strong in April. Robillard and Dunbar each have a 50 percent stake in the franchise and its assets, which includes the Oz Fitness Tier I Midget AAA team.
