Channing Tatum to Jump into Role of Evel Knievel [VIDEO]

A new movie about legendary stuntman and Butte, Montana native, Evel Knievel is in the works. Channing Tatum, who is hot off the success of “21 Jump Street” and “Magic Mike” is in talks to star and produce a film for Columbia Pictures about the famed daredevil based on Stuart Barker’s 2008 book “Life of Evel”.
Evel Knievel became a household name in the 1970’s for his nationally televised motorcycle jumps. Knievel was recognized for his Stars and Stripes getup and known for his world record 433 broken bones. At the height of his career he gained endorsements from Harley-Davidson and a toy line by Ideal Toy Company. Knievel died in 2007 at the age of 69. This isn’t the first film about the motorcycle daredevil. Knievel has been portrayed by George Hamilton and the late stuntman himself. No word yet on when we can expect the film to hit theatres but we will keep you posted!
