Blues Fest Was a Blast!

Magic City Blues Fest has come and gone for 2012 but it won’t soon be forgotten! I only got to go to Saturday night’s show on Montana Avenue as the Counting Crows headlined! We got there about 7:00p.m. and spent hours mingling with several hundred people and enjoying lots of great music!
One band that definitely caught my ear was Rick Estrin and the Nightcats! Rick Estrin ranks among the very best harp players, singers and songwriters in the blues world today and man can he play harmonica! He also kinda looks like Martin Scorsese! Also really enjoyed the sounds of Kevin Selfe and the Tornadoes! They really rocked some great blues music on the Stillwater Stage! The Counting Crows took to the main stage around 10:00p.m. and played for two solid hours! it was great! Would definitely like to see them again! Would have liked to see Chris Isaak on Friday night, but I did listen on KEMC, and Alison Krauss on Sunday but that was a little to pricey for me since I work in radio! Definitely had a blast and can’t wait until next year!
