Best Places to Cool Off in Billings This Summer – Our Top Five
Someone turned the heat up! It is officially summertime in Billings, and we looked around to find the best places to cool off, here are our top five, and as usual, if you have a good idea please share it with us by commenting on this post.

-The Rimrock Mall-
I remember as a kid (and a teenager skipping school!) hanging out in the mall. Not only did all my friends hang out there, but we got to get out of the heat! The Rimrock Mall is no exception; they keep it nice and cool in there!

-Lake Elmo State Park-
This urban day-use park is a great place to swim, sailboard, fish, picnic, birdwatch, or take a stroll. Plan to stretch your legs on a walk around the lake or stop by the FWP Region 5 headquarters on the south shore to fish from Roger’s Pier or tour the interpretive center (weekdays from 8 to 5). Non-motorized boating only is allowed. There are two reservable group use shelters for social events and a playground.
A special feature of Lake Elmo is its Dog Park. The 200-square-foot fenced-in water-adjacent area is located on the west side of the lake. Each visitor is allowed a maximum of two dogs in the park. Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations, current licenses, respond to voice commands, and be in visual control. Dogs must be 4 months or older. Dogs in heat may not enter the park. Remember that dogs must be on a leash in all other areas of Lake Elmo State Park. Enjoy this wonderful oasis in the city with your canine friend and be sure to clean up your pet’s waste.

-The Briarwood Golf Course-
I know, you are asking “How can I keep cool while golfing?” Well the Briarwood’s restaurant is open to the public, and so is their pool! It will cost you $2 to get in but it is COOL!

-Tiny’s Tavern Patio-
The patio is now open for the current season. Join us, weather permitting, for an enjoyable time with family and friends. It is one of Billings’ favorite gathering places during the warmer months. The patio can seat about 300 people, and it is a great place for special events, meetings, lunches, getting together with friends after work, a great lunch, or for a night out. They have musical entertainment on the weekends, and of course excellent food and beverages are always available. Contact them if you would like to reserve a space, at no charge, for a special event!

-Carmike Theatres-
The one on Central and the one on Shiloh are both awesome, but our favorite place to cool off is the one on Shiloh. Not only can you see an awesome flick, but stop in before your show at the China Bistro for your dinner before the show, and after stop in at Billings Best Yogurt to cool off after the show!
There is so much to do in Billings to cool off this summer, let us know your favorite!
