Bear’s Vinyl Vault Classic [VIDEO]

I’ve been collecting records since I was just a little guy and since I’ve been in radio for over 30 years I have amassed a pretty good collection of records. That’s right vinyl records! 45 rpm records and Lp’s!
This is one of those songs that just says “HEY IT’S SUMMERTIME!”. Crank down the top & crank up the music. Here’s a little history on the group. Just in case you want to kick somebody’s butt in music trivia. El Chicano, originally formed under the name VIP, the band came about during a period of increasing Chicano consciousness in America. Music lovers billed them as the next best thing next to Santana. Their initial hit, the jazzy “Viva Tirado”, was a rendition of Gerald Wilson’s original song about a bullfighter. The song did very well in Los Angeles and remained number one there for thirteen weeks. With their newfound success they recorded their first album and toured extensively, becoming the first Chicano band to play at the famous Apollo Theatre. Other popular songs include the funky “Tell Her She’s Lovely” which became a TOP 40 hit in 1973 and their cover version of Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl”.
