Friday, July 13 is the Yellowstone County Relay For Life. Fundraising efforts continue right up until and during the event at Billings West. If you have a Relay team, you may assemble and set up at Billings West on Friday afternoon. Be sure to check in with the American Cancer Society at Billings West so you set up in the correct spot. The Relay begins at 7 p.m.
I for one respect the Billings Police Department. I have personal friends with-in the department. I teach my two teenage boys to respect the law. But for the 2nd time in the last 4 months my youngest son, Devin was pulled over for really nothing. Yes he drives an old "beat up" car with a mis-matched bumper. Yes he has "skateboarder" hair. Yes he is only 15.
Montana Fair 2012 is August 10-18. I was so glad to see and hear that the theme again this year is "Jump On It"! Sandra Hawke with Montana Fair stopped by the K-Bear Morning Show to talk about "showing your stuff ".
After the 4th of July holiday it was back to work for Mayor Tom Hanel. City Council business meeting on Monday night. Mayor Hanel likes the fact that for two meetings in a row they have been short and productive.

Final fundraising from 100's of Relay for Life teams is going on this week including our Townsquare Media team. Since July 6 we have been broadcasting live for 1 hour at 24th and Broadwater. That is the location for Summer Snow-Shaved Ice!
It has been a while since a major computer virus was publicized. That all changes right now. The F.B.I. believes that about 300,000 personal computers in the country may have been infected with a malware virus that could knock you off of the internet. The actual day to watch for is this Monday, July 9.
It was the perfect day weather wise for 4th of July activities! Keri and I were sitting on the front porch late yesterday afternoon and I mentioned to her what a great 4th.."not a cloud in the sky"...not 30 seconds later, a big, black plume of smoke forms just down from our house.
The Celebrate Freedom Family event has grown from a picnic setting to this huge, fun city wide family event 11 years later! The day is culminated by the Pyrotechnics Fire Works show at Dusk. I was talking to George Bergin, Harvest Church Pastor and one of the organizers of Celebrate Freedom about the July 4th event at Castle Rock Park in the Heights.

3 days of rodeo fun begins tonight in Red Lodge! 83 years of the Home of Champions Rodeo in Red Lodge! J.J. Harrison and Miss Rodeo Montana, Mariah Rys-Sikora joined in on the K-Bear Morning Show for a fun approach to the activities in Red Lodge this 4th of July week!
