July 2, 2012 3 days of rodeo fun begins tonight in Red Lodge! 83 years of the Home of Champions Rodeo in Red Lodge! J.J. Harrison and Miss Rodeo Montana, Mariah Rys-Sikora joined in on the K-Bear Morning Show for a fun approach to the activities in Red Lodge this 4th of July week!
June 29, 2012 About a month ago I was honored to broadcast with the Stockton family at their store in Lockwood. Then I was asked to broadcast again at their Customer Appreciation Day on June 29 at Shiloh Express. It is pretty cool when I have met this family one time and I drive up in the station van and they all greet as if I was one of their regular customers! It just feels good!
June 28, 2012 Montana's largest wild fire is now up to about 19,000 acres with hundreds of evacuees including animals in the area. I was watching KULR-8 last night and as of 10:30 p.m. on June 27 the Dahl fire is 0% contained!
June 27, 2012 After hearing of the grass fire on the afternoon of June 26 and then hearing it is over 10,000 acres later that night, my first thought was for the residents of that area. Now it has become a true wild fire! Then you turn the T.V. news on and see horses running out onto the highway to escape the flames and black, billowing smoke that covered highway 87!

June 26, 2012 It was my weekly "Mayor Call" with Tom Hanel on the show this morning as it is every Tuesday and the Mayor gave his bullet points from the Monday City Council meeting. He was happy that the meeting was only 35 minutes long this time and the council accomplished major business including the approval to move ahead with the new Billings Library.
June 26, 2012 For the 3rd summer in a row Pepsi and the Dimitch family have agreed to help me "Cool Off Construction". During our 3 or 4 summer heat waves, road workers and construction workers continue to work out in the dangerous heat. 101 on June 25, 99 degrees June 26. Cool Off Construction is when I stop by construction crews in the K-Bear van and give out ICE cold beverages from Pepsi.
June 25, 2012 As I said on the K-Bear Morning Show, I am humbled by the Montana Broadcasters Award that I received in Whitefish on June 23. For those who didn't hear, I was announced as the Montana On-Air Radio Broadcaster of the year! I thank my morning show crew, Jon Arneson, Ed McIntosh and newscaster Peter Christian for having a hand in this great award! As a matter of fact Ed McIntosh and Peter Christian walked away with their own awards too!

There are two really easy ways to get registered for the 2012 Big Sky State Games, on-line or stop by any area Wendy's and pick up a registration booklet. Keep in mind the T-shirt deadline is July 9. This years Big Sky State Games is July 20-22. There is a very special opening ceremony planned on the evening of July 20.
June 22, 2012 K-Bear was involved in two fundraising efforts this week, Montana's Biggest Blood Drive with United Blood Services and the Billings Depot fundraiser at Thursday nights Alive After 5 event in downtown Billings.

As always it was a pleasure speaking with Ed Beckley from the Monster Trucks on the show. We talked about the Summer Nationals Monster Truck Show this Saturday, June 23 at the Grandstands at MetraPark. But then about half way through our talk Ed said something that surprised me!
