"To 3D or not to 3D?" is a question moviegoers often have to ask themselves when hitting the multiplex to see the latest blockbuster, but the debate doesn't stop at the paying customer. Sometimes it's the filmmakers themselves who are dubious about the technology, even as they work with it. This issue has come to light after J.J. Abrams revealed that he himself was not sold on converting his latest, 'Star Trek Into Darkness,' into 3D initially. In fact, he had it forced upon him by the studio.
Let this be an inspiration to all you aspiring writers: you just never know where and when you might be discovered. While 'Maniac' doesn't mark the first time Elijah Wood has played a psychopath (remember his creepy turn in 'Sin City'?), it's certainly showing us a side of Frodo Baggins we've never seen before. Not that you'll actually see much of him in it. The film, a remake of a nasty 80s cult classic, takes place from the Wood character's point of view, so we'll only get to actually view his face in reflections.
If you want a peek inside the mind of this remake, the first six minutes of 'Maniac' have been released online and can be watched after the break!

But oddly enough, none of those major blockbusters top the list. No, the film that was pirated the most is one that, at this stage of the year, is something of an afterthought.
Find out what it is after the break.
