Back in November, we learned that Henry McCullough, the guitarist who worked with Joe Cocker and Paul McCartney in Wings, was in critical condition following a serious heart attack. Unfortunately, McCullough's recovery has not gone as well as hoped. This Wednesday (Jan. 30) it was reported that McCullough has suffered brain damage as well.
The Who will close out their U.S. tour on Feb. 28 with a special intimate concert at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. Dubbed "Who Cares," the show will benefit their Teen Cancer America charity and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Elvis Costello and the Imposters will serve as the opening act for the evening.
Few things seemed more incongruous on children's television in 1989 than Ringo Starr's time on PBS' show, 'Shining Time Station' (apart, of course, from when George Carlin took over for Ringo a year later). A fire at Ozzy Osbourne's Beverly Hills house early this morning (Jan. 17) caused him to require medical treatment. His wife and manager Sharon told the story on her show, 'The Talk,' while also revealing that he had an undisclosed procedure performed on his hand on Wednesday. Neither Sharon, nor their dogs, who were also in the house at the time, were injured.
This summer it was suggested that Bruce Springsteen may have to be without Steven Van Zandt for dates in 2013 due to the guitarist's previous acting commitments. Today, Springsteen announced that Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine will take over for Van Zandt when Springsteen tours Australia in March.
