America is coming to Billings! The Grammy Award-winning band is scheduled to play at the Alberta bair Theatre on Thursday, February 28! Tickets for the show are $45 and are on sale now!
America has thrilled listeners for years with a string of hits such as “A Horse with No Name”, “Ventura Highway”, “Tin Man”, “Daisy Jane”, “I Need You”, “Lonely People”, and “Sister Golden Hair”. 42 years later, these friends are still making music together, touring the world and thrilling audiences with their timeless sound.
Members Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek were barely out of their teens, when they became a musical sensation during 1972, scoring No. 1 hits and winning a Grammy for best new musical artist.
The band suffered a heavy blow, when Dan Peek quit the group in 1977, right at the bottom of a steep decline in their popularity, but Beckley and Bunnell returned to the top 10 as a duo with “You Can Do Magic” in 1982. Continuing to tour, America maintains a loyal fan base and performs over 100 shows per year.
On January 16, 2007, America released “Here and Now”, the band’s first major label studio album in over twenty years.
